  23. I have been using the Bullet 100E since February.  I still haven't
  24. reached final judgment on the unit, because the only complaint I have
  25. is that it uses the ATT/Motorola chipset which can't talk with the
  26. Rockwell at 28.8.  There is a huge debate, apparently thusfar
  27. unsettled, over which brand is at fault.  Be that as it may, when I
  28. dial up the USR and V-everything modems, I hear that V-8 start-up
  29. sequence and connect reliably at 28.8 or 26.4.

  31. I have had few problems with disconnects, although I do believe there
  32. are some settings one can tweak.  E-tech's tel numbers are

  34. I talked with a fellow in tech support (408-988-8108/9) named Allan,
  35. who incdicated the company would be upgrading the eproms reguarly.  I
  36. haven't checked their BBS lately, but the latest can be found there at

  41. For fax, I have been using Winfax Pro, and have had no prblems on send
  42. or recieve.

  44. The modem supposedly also supports leased line, caller id, and
  45. distinctive ring, but I haven't figured out how they work (if they do
  46. at present).

  48. Price-wise it's very attractive, and I have been spoiled by the LCD.
  49. I just hope that the 28.8 connect issue is a software/firmware issue
  50. that can be resolved.  Otherwise, I am happy with it.

  52. E-Tech is a Taiwanese firm, and their marketing her is not the best.
  53. I hope they can get it together & survive in what is shaping up to be
  54. a visciously competitive market.
